Coffee Stakeholders Meet-Up in Nairobi Sets Stage for Intra Africa Coffee and Chocolate Trade Week.
The Coffee stakeholders meet-up, an initiative by the Intra-Africa Trade Committee of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, took place on the 13th of February 2024 at Pointzero Coffee within the picturesque Karen Blixen Museum. The gathering brought together diverse players in the coffee value chain from Kenya, ranging from farmers and processors to distributors, aggregators, consultants, associations, avid enthusiasts and many more.
The event served as a prelude to The Intra Africa Coffee and Chocolate Trade Week, a significant industry affair scheduled to take place in Equatorial Guinea from the 12th to the 14th of September 2024. Jacinta Kiruthi, of the Intra Africa Trade Committee organized and spearheaded this initiative with a broader mission to enhance awareness, support, and participation of Kenyan businesses in the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
During the meet-up, Mr. Felix Chege, Chairman of the Intra-Africa Trade Committee, delivered a compelling speech, highlighting the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s unwavering commitment, through the committee, to facilitate access for players in the coffee value chain to African markets.
Ms. Linda Fernando, Co-organizer of The Intra Africa Coffee and Chocolate Trade Week, played a pivotal role in extending a special invitation to the stakeholders. She emphasized the upcoming event as a paramount platform for knowledge exchange, product and service showcases, networking opportunities, and potential business ventures. Furthermore, she urged selected stakeholders to consider active participation as speakers and sponsors, enhancing the depth and diversity of discussions.
The intimate setting of the Pointzero Coffee meet-up fostered meaningful connections and dialogue among stakeholders, setting a positive tone for the collaborative spirit expected at The Intra Africa Coffee and Chocolate Trade Week. The event stands as a testament to the ongoing efforts of the Intra-Africa Trade Committee to empower and elevate the Kenyan coffee industry on the continental stage.
