EMPOWERING THE FUTURE OF COFFEE AND COCOA THROUGH INNOVATION AND COLLABORATION

We are delighted to announce three esteemed partner organisations for the Intra-Africa Coffee and Chocolate Trade Week, each playing a pivotal role in advancing intra-African trade in coffee and cocoa: the AfCFTA (African Continental Free Trade Area), the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority, and the Cote D’Ivoire – Ghana Cocoa Initiative. Below, we explore their contributions to accelerating intra-African trade and what attendees can anticipate from their participation during the event.

AfCFTA (African Continental Free Trade Area) – The AfCFTA is committed to establishing a comprehensive free trade area across the African continent by dismantling tariff and non-tariff barriers. During the Intra-Africa Coffee and Chocolate Trade Week, AfCFTA will unveil strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the trade of coffee and cocoa between African nations, thereby fostering greater economic integration and sustainable development.

Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority – As Africa’s premier coffee producer, the Ethiopian Coffee Authority is dedicated to improving the quality, productivity, and marketability of Ethiopian coffee. At the event, the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority will provide valuable insights into innovative and sustainable coffee farming practices and will explore market opportunities that stand to benefit producers and traders across the continent.

Cote D’Ivoire – Ghana Cocoa Initiative – This collaborative initiative between two of the world’s leading cocoa producers seeks to bolster the position of producers in the global market and ensure fair and sustainable pricing. During our event, the Cote D’Ivoire – Ghana Cocoa Initiative  will discuss policies and strategies aimed at enhancing the sustainability and profitability of cocoa production, as well as exploring collaborative opportunities with other African nations.
